FruitMinceTart

(Fruit mince tart)

As December looms, I’m thinking of spices, family, Christmas shopping, baking, heatwaves, and baking in heatwaves with ice-cream and chilled watermelon.

Something about this past year, has changed.

Now the year is almost at it’s end, it’s my conclusion that this year has been nothing at all like I had expected. For various reasons, this is both a good and a bad thing, and for similar reasons, it has caused me to wonder more about where I want to be heading. People who know me will recognise this as being highly unusual, as I am typically a very directionless and under-planned kind of person. I operate rather laboriously along the lines of hey, let’s pick a path and then see what happens. If it doesn’t work out, I simply backtrack and choose a different adventure instead.

Fortunately, apathy doesn’t seem to wash past a certain age, and there are at least a few more things I wish to accomplish before the lower back pain eventually takes over. Something has me wanting to aim for new things. It’s true I may never realise them, but I’m excited simply for the fact these ideas are blowing away the dust from the attic in my head.

So pull up a chair, grab a cup of tea, and a mince tart or two (I made so many of these! Big ones, small ones.. they’re all going to good homes soon). I promise I’ll be telling you more in good time.

Its funny how much can change over a year! Cant wait to hear what these new plans are πŸ˜€

Love the mince tarts too. I never used to be a fan, but if you get a good one (like yours are without doubt) then they are just awesome.

Oh Y what a great post – I love reading your blog – not only do you bake beautifully – I always leave feeling like I should be reflecting about my own life more (and baking more as well!)…

I feel we are on opposite sides of the spectrum – when I was younger I was full of ambition and had planned every avenue of my life. I knew where I wanted to be at a certain age and when things didn’t go my way, I felt frustrated. And then more recently I’ve taken a step back and said, well – if things don’t go my way – well that’s okay too… but enough about me – I want to hear more about you – and uhm – can I have some tart too?! They look divine.

It’s a nice change to all the mass productions tarts with a star on the top πŸ™‚ Love the crinkly strips and the perfectly baked tartlets. I am glad I did a lot of traveling before my low back pain took over the better part of me. So follow your heart and go do what you want to accomplish before it’s too late! Can’t wait to hear more!

First of all, I am there.. for those pies!!!! :))

interesting.. I am so the opposite. I had dreams and goals and was working towards it and then this year happened.. Now I have no plans because I don’t know where life is taking me and what I am meant to be.. so I am just cruising along taking it a step at a time..

haha.. this year has definitely been life and routine changing ain’t it?! :))

The end of the year has always been reviewing my goals and life, usually end up being pretty constructive for the new upcoming year, so new winds blowing here too. Excited to hear what conclusions and decision you will make, and what new things you will head towards. In the meanwhile, these tarts look absolutely gorgeous and delicious.
