Banoffee Teacake

B and I are trying to eat healthier these days.

At least, I think we are.

(Banoffee Teacake : Bananas, caramel, whipped vanilla cream, shaved 70% dark chocolate)

Hence the bananas.

OMG that looks amazing! I was actually looking at a banoffee recipe from CI today and was contemplating making one. But your little itty bitty mini one is so much cuter! and healthier, ’cause it’s smaller! Portion control!

Gorgeous blog! I love that these little gems are mini and sophisticated at the same time. A girl should be able to indulge her fetish for tiny treats without feeling like a toddler, right?

Yes. The bananas sold me too.

I just learned about banoffee last year from another blogger. Truthfully, I had forgotten all about it until I saw this post and now I’m suddenly reminded what struck me about them in the first place—they sound D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S! I am soooo not forgetting about banoffee this time, all because of those bananas 😉

hilarious 🙂 this looks absolutely delicious Y. (and, as a side note, i’m loving that you have all of this free time in between things to make lovely food and to show the internets what you can do – makes me hungry every morning).

Yes, bananas are good for you. Spread the word! 😀

Sandie, chocolate, bananas and caramel = an undeniably amazing combination. Hats off to the person who first came up with it!

shez : I’m enjoying the free time, but to be honest, I’m itching to get back to working life too! (It’s also cheaper :P)

Hehe I like to think it’s healthy. Much like cherry pie, apple pie and other fruit laden desserts are healthy. Although would apple or banana fritters qualify?

I think you have all the food group covered! Banoffee pie is one of B’s favorites too and he is always asking for it. Maybe for breakfast this weekend 🙂

Lorraine, I think fritters might be stretching it a bit, but what do I know.. I just called a cream and chocolate laden dessert ‘healthy’ !

Hi Jan! I’ll work on getting it all down and include it in this post, hopefully within the next few days.

Breakfast? You’re made of stronger stuff than me, Helen! 😀

Anything with banana in it is good. Even pisang goreng. Or so I convince myself. Hey, at least I’m trying to have at least 3 servings of fruits everyday; whatever incarnations they manifest themselves in hardly matters. Oh, yeah!

ha! Your logic matches mine perfectly! Oddly, although I started exercising regularly in the last couple of months, I’ve been gaining weight! I think that now that I’m more active that I feel entitled to indulge more often. Sigh. Doesn’t seem to work that way!
